Kinder testing tonight — Saturday Matinee this weekend

By | Coming Events, Enrollment | No Comments
Are you having a hard time finding a school that will accept your little one for kindergarten because he won’t be five until after September 1st?  Look no further.  Phoenix Advantage Charter School is accepting kindergarten-ready four-year-olds who will be five by the end of December 2012.  We are having a testing session this Thursday evening (July 12th) starting at 5:30 pm.  The testing takes about half an hour, and the parents can meet with admin and take a tour of the building while the little ones are with the teachers.

Also, beat the heat this Saturday afternoon (the 14th) at 2pm with a movie and snacks at PACS.  If you haven’t already spoken to anyone about enrolling your child, feel free to stop by for the movie and ask our registrar, Mrs. White, for more information.   Saturday Matinees are part of the 16th Street Business & Neighborhood Alliance’s “Second Saturday” events–while you’re in the area, visit Da Burger Shack, Lizabelle’s Treasures, and anywhere else you see the “2nd Saturday” signs.

Happy Independence Day… Registration Day Soon

By | Coming Events, Enrollment | No Comments

The PACS office will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th,  in honor of Independence Day.

Registration Day will be on Thursday, July 19th, from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm.  While we have open enrollment and you can come in any day to enroll your child, Thursday the 19th will be the day we’ll be taking pictures for student ID’s, providing the applications for Free or Reduced Price Lunch, and catching up on whatever stray pieces of documentation we may need.

Students who are 11 and in the 6th grade need two vaccinations:  Tdap & MCV.  Please bring your child’s updated vaccination records to Registration Day.  Students entering 6th grade will not be allowed to start without documentation of these shots (or a completed Excemption Form, available in the school office).  For your convenience, see below for free vaccinations available throughout the summer in various places in the valley.  The clinic at 16th & Roosevelt does free shots, too.
